Professional status

Prof. Dr. Gülsün Ayhan Aygörmez holds the professional title “Avukat”, awarded in the Republic of Türkiye, and is registered with the Istanbul Bar Association. She is also registered with the Berlin Bar under sections 206–207 of the German Federal Lawyers Act (BRAO) as a member of the Turkish legal profession (Avukat).

This registration does not constitute the award of the German professional title “Rechtsanwältin”. Professional activity in Germany is carried out within the scope permitted by sections 206–207 BRAO.

Professional rules and competent bodies

Legal practice in Türkiye is governed in particular by Turkish Lawyers Act No. 1136 and the professional rules of the Union of Turkish Bar Associations. The competent bar is the Istanbul Bar Association. For registration under sections 206–207 BRAO in Germany, the competent body is the Berlin Bar.
